Welcome To Furniture City Kennel Club
Digging up history
The Furniture City Kennel Club was established circa 1951. Mrs. Edens and her daughter Maxine French were the early leaders.
The inital shows was held at the Jamestown fairgrounds on the Saturday before Labor Day until the early 70's when it moved to the exhibition hall at the Greensboro Coliseum. It stayed there until it moved to the Jim Graham Building in Raleigh. A second show was established in the late 70's and was held at City Lake Park in High Point.
After becoming a member of AKC, James R. White, noted multiple group judge was elected as its first delegate. Other members of note were superintendents Barbara Moss Inman and Jean Whitt.
